Well, after a few long hours of learning and playing around with code, I’ve managed to get evandj.com up and running.

So, I figured I would document most of it so if anyone is in the same shoes as I was, this can be some sort of help. Firstly, I’d like to throw this resource out there: Rubiqube

He has a lot of good stuff for the beginnings of a traditional website using wordpress. Now, I’m beyond that as well as part 2, so I’m using my own knowledge of CSS and other stuff to make it look the way I want it to.

If you don’t already, I would suggest downloading firebug. It’s a great tool to help you figure out how the CSS should be built and to test different things.

I think my next step is to spiff it up a little bit by getting a little more into the design aspect and the look of the website.
